Branch Light by Michail Komarov allows you to shape and grow your own lighting by fitting togethor a multitude of straight and curved pieces so that you have complete control of how your lamp looks. [via]

Tree Light designed by Wan-jin Joo, Hyun-Joung Yoo. Here is what they have to say about the design:

Since the beginning of the 21st century, environmental friendly design in material and shape has been getting increasingly important. So I made lightning that gives us a feeling just like nature is getting into the house literally by using tree-shape. For light, LEDs are used, while recycled plastic is used for the branch part. Arbre utilizes a module method of lighting. To use this light, the user must put the branch shaped pieces into one another. As the human inspires life into the tree, the tree releases the light through its branches.

Rough Diamond, is a project by leebroom. We just hope there ar no loose wires.

It seems Flourescent lamps just cannot forget their past. This design from Formstark reminds us of the incandescent days of lighting.
The feminine form has also inspired a few lamps, like for example, the Profile Votive from supermarkethq.

We are not kidding! They even call it the Marilyn Lamp.

Designers are an odd bunch. I mean, they tend to get inspired by strange things. Like, for example, MRI Scans. Designer Alexander Lervik designed this brain lamp after having his brain MR scanned!

We are guessing this lamp by Mark Beam was probably X-Ray inspired!
And inspiration can come from anywhere, really. Not just from MR Scans and X-Rays.
